Project Helping Hands
STRANGE MAGIC
Once upon a time, there was a boy that lived in the desert of Australia. The boy was naughty too. In Australia it doesn’t rain very often and there are special animals that are not in other countries. But those animals need water, and they don’t have it during the dry season.
Australia is the most enormous country in the world. There are kangaroos and koalas. There are aborigines too. There is water, but not like in Argentina. Days are often very hot. It’s the hottest country. Long ago in Australia there were a lot of hard-working people.
One hot day, the people of the tribe went to the river to take some water. But the boy didn’t go. So when the people came from the ponds, he said: “Oh! Can you give me some water? And the people gave him. Another day, the tribe went to collect food, and again the boy shouted at him: “See naughty boy, you have to go and collect your food.” The people called him muttering “the lazy and naughty boy.” One day, the boy wanted to drink. So he went where the water was and he drank a lot, and what he didn’t drink, he took with him.
When he was running with the water, he saw a bush. And with a strange magic, it became a gum tree. The boy dag, clang and he started to climb. Later, the people wanted to drink their own water, so they went to the place where the water was, but there was no water. All the people were furious, but there were two persons that were really furious.
So those two persons looked around where the boy could be and they found him. He was in the gum tree. They shouted to him: “Naughty boy, come down and bring the water” But the boy didn’t do anything. So the two started to climb, and the boy was so scared, that he fell down. He saw all the people running, so he was more scared, the two persons fell down so he climbed again. It was very strange, but his legs started to change, his hands too, his nose get black….. He was a koala!!!! He wailed and moaned, and he was the first koala in Australia.
